And the Winners are...

The Union Arts Council held its first annual Competitive Art Exhibition this weekend (Dec. 1), and it was a huge success!   Fifteen adult artists entered 42 works, and approximately 100 people visited the show.  Joyce Beauvais' watercolor, "DeLoutre Bottom," was named Best of Show by the judge, Dr. Joni Noble, ULM associate professor of art.   In voting by show visitors,  Sue Abbott's rendering of a horse running through snow won the "People's Choice" ribbon.

Farmerville High School art students entered a variety of drawings and paintings.  Art teacher Courtney Mardis was present throughout the show to share her thoughts on the future of the newly formed art program at the school.  Proceeds of the Competitive Art Exhibition will be donated to the program.
